Claude Desktop

Valency Bond™ works with Claude Desktop (opens in new tab) over MCP using OAuth. Connectors follow your Claude account, so adding Valency from the Claude connector directory makes it available in Claude Desktop in one click.

1. Open Valency in the Claude connector directory and click Add. If the button reads Sign in to add, sign in to Claude first.

2. Sign in with Google or email when prompted

   Note

   A Valency account is created automatically the first time you sign in. The email you use does not have to match the email on your Claude account.

3. Open Claude Desktop's Connectors page (opens the desktop app) , or navigate there manually: in Claude Desktop, click Customize, then Connectors. Valency is listed as connected.

4. Start a new conversation and ask (more prompt ideas):

   Use Valency to find papers by Hinton

You're connected

You see paper results in Claude's response. You can also explicitly invoke Valency tool calls.

Note

Have a Code tab in your Claude desktop app? That's the GUI version of Claude Code, and it reuses these same connectors, so no extra setup is needed.
