Kiro

Valency Bond™ works with Kiro (opens in new tab) over MCP using OAuth. Installing the Valency Power (Kiro's name for an installable capability) brings the MCP connection and the research skills in one step.

Setup

1. Open the Powers panel and choose Add Custom Power.

2. Select Import power from GitHub.

3. Enter the repository and install the Power:

   Kiro

   https://github.com/valency-oss/valency-connectors

4. Activate Valency and complete Kiro's browser-based authorization flow.

   Note

   A Valency account is created automatically the first time you sign in. The email you use does not have to match the email on your Kiro or AWS account.

   Valency Bond supports dynamic client registration, so Kiro registers itself. You should never be asked for a client ID, client secret, bearer token, or a callback URL.

5. Ask (more prompt ideas):

   Use Valency to search for papers about quantum computing

You're connected

You see paper results in Kiro, with links to everything it cites.

Skills

The Power carries the same research workflows as the other platforms. Kiro loads the one matching your request as steering before it calls any Valency tools.

Troubleshooting

Tools unavailable? Open Kiro's MCP panel, confirm MCP support is enabled, and complete the authorization flow for valency.

Import failed? Check the URL. The Power imports from the repository root, so enter https://github.com/valency-oss/valency-connectors without a path or branch suffix.

Need to start over? Open Powers → Installed Powers → Valency and use the Power detail controls to remove it, then import it again. Don't edit Kiro's generated MCP configuration by hand.
