Kiro IDE

The one-click installer adds Valency to your Kiro IDE user profile across workspaces.

Kiro IDE setup steps

1. Add Valency to Kiro IDE

   If Valency is already installed, skip this step. Otherwise, add Valency to Kiro IDE ↗ and confirm the new server there. If the link stays in your browser, click Open in Kiro on that page.

2. Enable and sign in

   • Click Enable in Kiro's bottom-right notification.
   • Click the Kiro icon in the left sidebar. Expand MCP Servers at the bottom of its panel and click Authenticate beside valency.
   • Click Open if Kiro asks to open an external website. Complete browser sign-in, then look for Connected beside valency.

3. Verify the connection

   In Kiro chat, ask:

   Use Valency to list the sources it can search. Copy

   A returned source list confirms the connection.

Troubleshooting

The link did not open Kiro? Click Open in Kiro on the landing page. Your browser may ask permission to open the app.

Valency says Unauthenticated or Connection Failed? Click Authenticate or Retry beside valency under Kiro's MCP Servers. If Kiro was waiting on browser consent, finish that sign-in and retry.

The agent cannot see Valency's tools? Confirm that MCP Servers shows valency Connected, then start a new Kiro chat and ask it to call list_sources.
