Do I need a Valency account?
Section titled “Do I need a Valency account?”Yes, but there’s nothing to set up ahead of time. A Valency account is created automatically the first time you sign in from the connector. You can manage it later at app.valency.io (opens in new tab).
Does my Valency email need to match my Claude or ChatGPT account?
Section titled “Does my Valency email need to match my Claude or ChatGPT account?”No. Your Valency account and your Claude Pro (or ChatGPT) account are completely separate. When the connector prompts you to sign in, use whichever email you want your Valency account under, even if that’s different from the email on your AI assistant account.
Do I need a token?
Section titled “Do I need a token?”No. Every AI-client connection (Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, VS Code, Copilot, Antigravity, Grok, Kiro) uses OAuth (sign-in). No token is needed; only the direct API uses a bearer token.
Tokens are only required for Direct API integrations.
Which platform should I use?
Section titled “Which platform should I use?”We recommend Claude for the best experience. It’s the fastest to set up and most reliable.
Can I use Valency with other AI assistants?
Section titled “Can I use Valency with other AI assistants?”Valency works with any MCP-compatible assistant. Currently supported:
- Claude (claude.ai, Desktop, Code CLI)
- ChatGPT (any plan, including free), on the web, in the ChatGPT desktop app (which includes Codex), and in the Codex CLI
- VS Code, through the Valency extension
- GitHub Copilot CLI
- Google’s Antigravity CLI
- xAI’s Grok Build
- AWS’s Kiro
- Any other MCP client that supports OAuth
The Gemini CLI is no longer supported. Google retired it (opens in new tab) in favor of the Antigravity CLI.
