Prerequisite

You need a Valency account. Sign up here if you haven't already.

1. Open this prefilled connector form and click Add

   Or add the connector manually

   In Claude, click Customize, then Connectors, then Add, then Add custom connector. Enter the name:

   Valency

   And the server URL:

   https://labs.valency.io/mcp

   Then click Add.

2. Sign in with Google or email when prompted

   Note

   Sign in with the email you used to register at app.valency.io. It does not have to match the email on your Claude account.

3. Start a new conversation and ask: "Search for papers about climate change" (more prompt ideas)

Success: You see paper results and tool calls in Claude's response. You can also explicitly invoke Valency tool calls.

Enable tool permissions

To avoid approving each tool call individually, open the Valency connector settings and set Read-only tools to Always allow.
